CPI was brought together in April 2008 by the merger of two UK government-backed Centres of Excellence, both formed in 2004 – the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) on Teesside and the Centre for Nanotechnology, Microtechnology and Photonics (Cenamps) in Newcastle upon Tyne.

To maintain CPI’s international leadership in these vast and challenging fields, they constantly seek to recruit the brightest and best qualified people from the international scientific and industrial communities. CPI’s success in attracting the best candidates from around the world is evidence of their international reputation and the platform for its future growth.
