Shanghai will be hosting the Expo 2010 from May 1– October 31, 2010 and offers UK businesses the opportunity to reach 70 million visitors over the Expo period. The theme of the exposition will be "Better City – Better Life" and signifies Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as a major economic and cultural centre.

As well as being one of China’s main ports for foreign trade Qingdao is a key economic centre for petrochemical, locomotive, ship-building, finance, logistics, textile and garments, aquatic product processing, and its industrial sectors are growing with huge potential. 

Xi'an has rich natural resources; its main minerals include gold, iron, copper, graphite, marble, feldspar and quartz. It is the largest centre of science, technology, culture, sports, education, commerce, trade, finance, telecommunications, aviation and manufacturing in northwest China. Pharmaceutical production is the second largest industry of the city.
