The North East England Science and Industry Council (S&IC) presses on with its programme of building collaborative partnerships between industry and the knowledge base.  Eighteen leading regional figures drawn from industry, academia and government agencies make up the council and are the driving force behind the region’s science, innovation and technology policy and action programme.

The S&IC is supported by three Thematic Work Groups and three leadership councils aligned with the region’s key pillars of Energy, Process and Health Sciences.  Outputs from these groups are beginning to shape actions and developments of underpinning importance to the S&IC’s strategic direction of science and innovation.
